The first day of the Hexagon Ride! I set off quite late, in the mid-afternoon. There was a lot to do still to close up my flat and packing the bike was not easy. I have a lot more stuff for this trip - mainly cooking gear and some food that won't keep until I'm back home. It's probably too much!

I set off along the Rhine via Mulhouse rather than following the shorter route through the Sundgau villages. I think the bike is too heavy at the moment to cope with the hilly Sundgau terrain. I decided to stay on the Eurovelo 6 route, following the Rhine-Rhone canal past Mulhouse to Dannemarie. From there, I'll probably turn off the bike path to the campground at Joncherey for the night.
